This piece is 26”x50” on a 3/4” wood panel and is inspired by a magnified shot of a mushroom. I absolutely love the organic nature of mushroom formations and wanted to capture those shapes in this piece. I experimented with a hypershift pigment on the outer structure to give it a psychedelic essence to the piece. As you move around the artwork, it changes color from orange, purple, and blues. The inner waves transition color from a neon yellow to a deep teal on a matte black background.
